Colour blocking - Roman blind style

This is your sign to ignore the colour rules

This fantastic customer request completely threw the “three colour theory” out of the window… and we must say, it proves the saying “rules are there to be broken”.

They were in the search of bold block colour roman blinds and knew Jane at Aconite Interiors was the maker for the job!

Just in case you’re wondering…
what Is the three colour theory?

It’s the idea that sticking to three main colours in a space creates balance. Generally a dominant colour, secondary colour, and accent colour.
But as this project shows, when done thoughtfully, you can absolutely push beyond that - we encourage it!

so, Why do THIS CUSTOMERS COLOUR combinations work so well?

The customer had a vision. It all started with a wallpaper the customer adored. And that became the foundation for the whole scheme. Pulling out key colours from the design they loved. Once the palette was roughly selected, we got to work sourcing fabrics… we are not going to lie, this took some time.

The key was making sure the tones complemented each other and that the textures felt consistent, so everything sat beautifully together.

One set of blinds was for the master bedroom, the other for an office/landing.

And then came the real art…
Getting the balance right within each fold of the Roman blind, and carefully considering the order of colours.

The end result?

A bold, joyful and beautiful bespoke set of blinds and a happy customer.
